Join us for a public review of our working draft.
The Marvel City’s efforts to chart a course for the future — which got underway early this year — are now coming to fruition as our draft Gameplan for Growth gets presented to the community Tuesday, September 17, from 6-7pm in Council Chambers at Bessemer City Hall.
It’s been an eventful ride.
From getting the word out to conducting a survey where over 300 Bessemer residents shared their views, the stage was set for a meaningful community conversation — first with resident input, then with a public review of the recommendations that emerged.
The result of all that effort? A 200 page gameplan directing how and where we can make crucial incremental steps towards becoming — some would say “becoming again” — a true championship city.
The plan sets goals addressing all aspects of municipal operations — housing, transportation, economic development, parks and recreation, community services, and zoning reform, as well as the implementation strategies necessary to achieve them.
